Linda Perry I was at a park this week. It was so uncomfortable having to "keep an eye out" for loose pit bulls

Passed by a couple different Pits today on the path around a lake at the park. The larger one paid us no mind but twice we passed by a smaller black one with white chest and both times he pulled towards us and growled both times. Obviously not well socialized and we know what that dog will do if it gets the chance. I know what I must do if that chance happens to be my dogs and I. I can tell by the aggression it was showing it is dangerous.

  • Linda Perry You have to do what you have to do. And don't let the tears of pit addicts affect your life-saving decisions.
  • Andy Kliene Get armed, CCW. Whistle while you walk without a care in the world.
  • Linda Perry Yes, Olivia..that is horrible. Our poliicians need to get it together and make laws that will force these pit owners to leach their dogs.
  • Christel Ravn It must be so awfull to live in a place where they are legal.

I cant imagen how terrifying it must be.

    Please be carefull.
  • Anthony Michael Ridge did you tell the pittie group that added you and tried to add me?
  • LeeAnn Fuller A break stick will soon be part of all of our going out attire... Our lawmakers can protect our children from toys, which is great, but obviously they can't read black and white statistics on pits!
  • Dennis Ballance Sr LeeAnn Fuller a break stick may work to get the pit off you but I prefer something to keep the pit from getting on me. If you are by yourself the break stick is useless
  • Wendy Lambert Dixon Sorry, I'd be just as scared of the non-growler (if not more). Most likely NO advanced warning from these maulers.
  • Linda Perry Dennis, yes, if you are alone a break stick might be useless, however, if you have a break stick handy, then if anyone is passing by, or if police or bystanders are there, they can use YOUR break stick to help save your live. And yes agree, of course would be nice to stop the pit before they attack, but the only way you can do that is to make sure you call police for loose pits --do not call animal care. Loose pits present a life-death emergency, so call the police for help if someone is being attacked by pit bulls
  • LeeAnn Fuller Trust me Dennis Ballance Sr, no one agrees with you more than me. We have lost a grand daughters face to a pit , fortunately she is healing well. Two months later 2 pits dug under their fence and killed their dog....would love to see them banned in this country but till then, got to do anything you can to prevent if at all possible. My point was a little sarcastic meaning fighting off pits has become a everyday occurrence .
  • Dennis Ballance Sr 911 What is your emergency? There is a loose pit bull. 911 That is a job for animal control let me give you the number. Animal control our hours are 9-5 please call back during normal hours or leave a message and we will get back to you.
  • LeeAnn Fuller It amazes me that a stroller can be banned and recalled because it pinched some fingers and actually cut off 2 I believe across the country and don't get me wrong, that is a serious thing and should be addressed, but these dogs can maul hundreds and kill every few weeks and our legislators for the most part turn a deaf ear and a blind eye.
  • Dennis Ballance Sr LeeAnn Fuller Sorry your grand daughter had to go threw that we will keep her in our prayers. A ban on these dogs will not come to soon for me kids should be able to play without being attackd
  • Linda Perry I was at a park this week. It was so uncomfortable having to "keep an eye out" for loose pit bulls. (Have seen them in the past in this park and the ding-dong owners walk them unleashed, carrying the leash over the shoulder, and letting the pit walk as much as 14 feet away from them. These are the owners who are clueless who will say, after an attack, "there was nothing I could do; I couldn't reach the dog in time" PUT THEM IN JAIL!!!! Sick of those owners who "claim" that the dog got off the leash. Let's face facts here, pit owners walk their dogs off leash and then cry that the dog got "off leash" ; there needs to be some serious jail time for ANY pit owners that have pits who are off leash --whether they are off leash on accident or on purpose, even if they "broke' the leach or broke off leash. We would have no sympathy for a gun owner if their kid brought the gun to school ; let's not have any sympathy for any pit owners who are so irresponsible that they can't figure out how to keep a dog on a secure short leash. Politicians hope you read this and start drafting those bills for our new BSL laws.
  • Bonny Thomas Lee Gail, that Pit March on Washington must have other civilized countries laughing at us..as more "middle class" folks have these dogs foisted on them by the "rescuers" someone or their child will be killed or maimed. If it is someone like Candy Lightner, the founder of MADD, or the Hon. Craig Deeds son and mental health reforms in my own state, or very close to home "Save the Next Girl" begun by parents who were outraged by the tragic murder of their daughter. When bad things happen to people who have the means, ability and drive to make change..change happens. Colleen Lynn, Merritt Clifton, Jeff Borchardt ,ect, are most unfortunate for the Pit Advocacy movement.
  • Earl Upham Gail L Rosbach, I checked out HB 1018 to repeal BSL in Washington State. Here are all the Reps supporting the bill: Representatives Appleton, Gregerson, Reykdal, Goodman, Buys.
  • Earl Upham At the end of this video from TVW you can see and hear the crap in support of this bill. Local jurisdictions should have the right to make tighter restrictions. This bill would undo all of that. Here is a link: http://www.tvw.org/index.php?option=com_tvwplayer...

  • Linda Perry The scene that you described there, the pit bulls at the beach or park, is a scene that is happening right now in someone's city, every day. And sometimes it is worse and the dogs are not even on leashes and they are permitted to approach strangers who are not interested in interacting with pit bulls.
