At the beginning of #DogBitePreventionWeek I posted the initial piece. This is the follow up.
If you or anyone in your family is ever affected by a life altering pit bull attack, and you dare to speak out of social media.
1. You will blamed, your child will be blamed, even infants, to the foaming at the mouth pit bull "advocates" the victim is always at fault.
2. You will be called "racist against pit bulls"
3. You will told to "educate yourself"
4. You will told your story is invalid because you "never owned a pit bull"
5. Attempts will be made to take away your employment. To my knowledge, not one of these attempts has ever succeeded, but it doesn't stop the "advocates" from trying.
6. You will be subject to posts on numerous juvenile FB pages and blogs.
I've learned many things in the 2.5 years since a pit bull tried to kill my daughter. Most of them in an attempt to "educate myself" the most glaring thing I learned is that pit bull apologists hate freedom of speech, as the daily horror stories tarnish the image of their "sweet little wiggle butts"
As normal dog bite prevention tips do not work against a pit bull intent on destruction, the only advice I offer is to avoid the deed, avoid the breed.
